Dear Trinity Faculty and Staff,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tess Coody-Anders ’93 as Vice President for Strategic Communication and Marketing. Tess has more than 20 years' experience developing successful, integrated marketing communications strategies and campaigns. As Trinity’s Vice President for Strategic Communication and Marketing, Tess will be responsible for providing leadership for the University’s overall communications strategies, research-based messaging, marketing, and branding activity.
Tess is currently Founder and CEO of Wellvana, a digital consumer engagement platform that enables healthcare consumers to aggregate health and wellness records. In this role she also works with D.C.-based trade organizations to advocate for the rights of healthcare consumers. Previously, she was CEO of Resolute Health, where she led the design and construction of a $240-million clinically-integrated healthcare delivery system to serve the needs of families in a three-county area.
She also served as partner and chief operating officer at Guerra DeBerry Coody Marketing and Communications in San Antonio for 15 years. Along with her fellow Trinity alumni partners, Tess helped to grow the boutique agency into a $100M-plus firm with focus on strategic marketing communications, design, public affairs and policy.
As an undergraduate, Tess served as the editor of the Trinitonian, which led to several newspaper reporting positions in Texas. She graduated in 1993 with honors earning a bachelor of arts in communication.
Tess’s appointment is the result of an impressive national search that yielded many excellent candidates. She stood out because of her experience in both strategic communication and marketing. She is a model for the phrase 'confident, curious, and catalyst' that I often use to describe the Trinity qualities we cultivate in our students. Tess is a confident spokesperson who can help us refine and tell the Trinity story. She is a curious individual who seeks to understand trends, data, and Trinity's place in a crowded field. And she has a track record of being a catalyst for success in various organizations.
From co-founder of a marketing agency to innovation in a complex field like healthcare, she understands the impact of marketing as a way of holding ourselves accountable, of being authentic, and of living fully the promise we make to others. She will be an outstanding collaborator as we seek deeper connections with our alumni and friends and greater renown across the country. The fact that she brings these talents and she is a Trinity alumna herself makes her own story even more persuasive. I enjoy telling the Trinity story, and I look forward to sharing the stage with others, like Tess, who share my passion for Trinity.
